Riddle

Ok, it might not be terribly hard or all that good, but I want to see if I can fool somebody......here goes.

Riddle by Tony

It lays unmoving throughout the days

Although it is hit by the unbearable rays

It goes for miles, and continues on

Its purpose often wondered upon.

It seems as if unable to hold

Yet able to be many centuries old

It covers not all but most of the land

Though it can slip right out between your hands.

I know it's bad but i had it for a while and decided to post it :D

Anyway, thanx for reading my attempt at a riddle. And struggling through my horrible forced rhyming.

Ha! I got sand too **looks smug** LMAO. Anyway, cant really critique it as a poem - because it's a riddle - but I will make a few general points:

It lays unmoving throughout the days -- it LIES

Although it is hit by the unbearable rays -- I'd take away "the" before "unbearable"

It goes for miles, and continues on

Its purpose often wondered upon. -- hehe this makes me laugh.

It seems as if unable to hold -- "it seems as if it's unable to hold" is better, although it's still weird. Hold what?

Yet able to be many centuries old

It covers not all but most of the land

Though it can slip right out between your hands. -- "yet it can slip from between your hands" may fit better.

Still, cute as a riddle. Short, funny and you managed to fool 2 ppl, so who's complaining? Heheh :D
